CONSTRUCTION NEWS

Oman's Ministry of Transport said it has started work on the Rusayl-BidBid road expansion project, which on completion, will see construction of four lanes on each side and new flyovers.

The 27-km-long project, which begins from Rusayl-Nizwa interchange on the Muscat Expressway and ends at Al-Sharqiyah Expressway interchange in BidBid, will also see the development of pedestrians tunnels and bridges and rainwater drainage facilities, said the statement from Ministry of Transport.

The Rusayl-BidBid road, a vital network for the government, presently handles 3000 cars per hour during rush hour. But once the expansion work gets completed this road will be able to accommodate 8030 cars per hour at peak capacity, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
