The 26th edition of Muscat International Book Fair will begin at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre this Thursday (February 24) and run until March 5.
The opening ceremony of the fair will be held under the patronage of HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, reported Oman News Agency (ONA).
The extravaganza will boast a strong comeback and host an elite selection of literati, media personnel, publishers and exhibitors, with the Governorate of South A'Sharqiyah as the Guest of Honour.
It will showcase a wide range of programs and cultural activities carrying the insignia of its heritage and cultural legacy throughout the days of the book fair.
As many as 114 cultural activities, among them 29 unique to the South A'Sharqiyah Governorate, will be staged, but children’s activities will be limited to 85 in line with Covid-19 precautionary measures.
